The Right White?

As an interior designer, I have plenty of tips and tricks up my sleeve! When it comes to transforming a space, painting is my absolute number one recommendation. It can completely change the entire feel of a room, and it's a relatively low-budget way to make a big impact. And while many people may shy away from the idea of using white paint, I believe it's the perfect blank canvas.

White paint can make a space feel bigger and more fresh, but not all whites are created equal. The key is to choose the right shade of white for the desired effect. Whether you want a light and bright feel or a cozy and intimate atmosphere, the undertones of the white paint can make all the difference. Warm undertones are perfect for creating a cozy feel, while cool undertones can make a space feel more light and airy.
When it comes to choosing the right white paint, I always turn to three of my favourite brands: Dulux, Benjamin Moore, and Taubmans. Each brand offers a variety of white shades with different undertones to suit every taste and style.

Some popular white shades from Dulux include Lexicon, Whisper White, and Hog Bristle Quarter. Benjamin Moore offers beautiful warm white options like Simply White and Cloud White, as well as the classic Chantilly Lace for a neutral white. Taubmans also has a great selection of white shades, such as Cotton Sheets, Cotton Ball, and Miss Universe.
When selecting the right white paint for your space, it's important to consider how you want the room to feel and how the paint will look in different lighting conditions. I always recommend getting paint samples and testing them out in various spots around the room to see how they will appear in different lights.

So, whether you're looking to create a cozy retreat or a light and airy space, choosing the right white paint can make all the difference. With the right shade of white, you can transform your space and create a fresh, inviting atmosphere that you'll love to spend time in.
Happy Styling!
